COLLEGI SANTA CRUZ, VALENCIA
Santa Cruz is an educational centre that develops its project at la Creu neighbourhood in Mislata (València, Spain) and surrounding areas. Our project includes: Infant School, Primary and Secondary Education, and an Office Administration Vocational Training Course.
Our school was founded in 1963 and, nowadays, it is a cooperative school with 380 students and 54 teachers. Given the features of our student body, we are an inclusive and multicultural centre listed as a Unique Educational Attendance Centre by the Valencian Government.
Our school is located in an area at risk of socio-cultural and economic exclusion. For this reason, we work with disadvantaged students from families of this environment who have a wide range of different nationalities. Some of our students live at the Refugee Support Centre of Mislata or come from different NGOs.
The main characteristics of our educational project would be: to develop an inclusive project in a school for everyone where everyone matters; the sociocultural diversity of our students and families, which leads us to work intercultural education aims and contents; and the presence of cooperative values and principles inspiring our management, organization and pedagogical work.
